Nourish The Soul

Yesterday had a forecast of sunny in the mid 60s which was to be followed up by three straight days of rain.  When I saw this, I knew that I had no choice but to skip going into the office and go play ponies instead.

My first thought when I decided to ride yesterday was to phone some friends and see if we could find some company for out on the trails.  But after further thought I decided that it had been awhile since Tucker and I had spent time off in the woods just us.  Riding with friends is so fun and special, but there is something magical about riding alone too.

After a lazy morning, we hit the local park.  We walked, trotted and cantered the rolling hillsides, watched the maintenance crews work on the trails, visited with the dog walkers and soaked up the sunshine.  It was a lovely day to be with my guy.  A ride that truly nourished my soul.

The cherry on the top of my ride was arriving back at the trailer lot to see my hubby armed with sandwiches, meeting me for his lunch our.
