Have you ever seen me post about cooking? Let me save you some scrolling…NOPE. You know why? Because I’m not passionate about cooking. In fact, I find it somewhat inconvenient that food has to be prepared and eaten at all.
I’m a functional cook. We have to eat and it is not practical or economical to eat out all the time. Hubs is definitely not one to pick up a frying pan, so that leaves me.

Early this Summer one of my friends posted on Facebook looking for Instant Pot recipes. I’d never heard of such a thing, intrigued, I entered the big world of google for some more information. I was an amazed: a pressure cooker, slow cooker, saute’ function, rice cooker and steamer all in one. How could that be? I said to myself, perhaps with this item I could suddenly be a chef. Like to cook. Make more than the handful of recipes I tend to recycle over and over and over again.

As I clicked through Amazon I realized how impulsive I was being. I’m not one to just purchase something. I like to establish a history of behavior of actually needing/wanting an item to justify the purchase of something. I’m not the girl that buys a treadmill believing that will be the reason, I suddenly start exercising, even though I have not been on a walk in 10 months.
I filed the information away in the back of my mind, but it kept resurfacing. Instant pot does a good job of marketing and it has an enormous amount of followers so I repeatedly saw the product popping up into my consciousness.

Finally this past Fall, I pulled the trigger. And all I can say is WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG? This thing is a modern technology marvel. It has transformed my sub-par cooking into something that both hubs and I look forward to eating. AND in less time with more convenience.
Most recently with the holiday season in full swing, I have been experimenting with cakes. Let’s exam the amazingness of that last statement for two reasons. 1) Cake…in a pressure cooker….WWWHHHAAATTT?!?!?!?!?! 2) I’ve been experimenting with COOKING….it’s weird, I know.
So there is my product plug for the year. YUM!
