Changing Of The Seasons – November 2018

November is one of my favorite months, so I am sad to see it come to an end.  It’s been a month filled with some new adventures and lots of good times so I am happy to have a place where I can commemorate them here in my Changing Of The Seasons post

We opened up our month with a stay in Asheville to watch David Rudolph, the lawyer from The Staircase, speak on a panel about our justice system.  The next day we took a scenic drive through the mountains on our way to Atlanta.  I’ve dedicated an entire post to that drive so I will not recap any of the photos here.

We were in Atlanta to visit family.  We had a nice lunch with our cousins and then got to attend our nieces baby shower.  She makes an adorable preggers and being three days after Halloween the shower was a come in costume and enjoy the spooky theme party.  They really focused on all the details and the guests were appreciative for it.

I spent a fabulous Sunday afternoon with my husband walking around the campus of UNCC.  As a masters degree graduate and a current adjunct professor, you can tell my hubby really loves this school.  It was nice to wander around with him and hear some of the history of the school and see the old and new buildings of the campus.  It was a perfectly sunny and crisp Fall day spent in very good company.

Some friends & I had to find a plan B when, after a solid week of rain, our trail ride couldn’t happen due to all the local bridle paths being closed.  We decided dogs and beer would be a good alternative and headed over to Woofstock 2018.  It is a big fundraiser for the local Great Dane rescue group.  Lots of vendors, raffles, auction, food, beer and of course….dogs.

You can read about and see pics from my hiking boot break in, on this post, so I won’t re-post any of those on this entry.

I was on a stay-cation for the week of Thanksgiving and on my last day before having to return to work, I took my camera on a walk to the park.  The squirrels were in a hurry to gather, eat and bury as many acorns as possible, a reminder to me that Winter, is in fact, on it’s way.

On to December my friends.  The holiday season ’tis here!

I have omitted my riding adventures from this episode of The Changing Seasons, however, if you are interested in reading about T & I’s November happenings you can find them in THIS post.
