There are always so many moments to be grateful for and on Fridays I like to reflect on one in particular that was meaningful to me from the prior week.
We’ve had a lot of Winter weather. A couple of snow and ice storms and just cold in general. As temperatures warmed one day and attempted to melt the remaining snow and ice, I decided to venture out to the closest park and spend some time hiking the trails. At times the paths were still a bit slick and treacherous, but with slower steps and a bit of caution, still navigable. It felt so good to be out and about after several days spent solely on the farm. The chill in the air and the coating of white gave the forest a fresh, clean feeling as the sun reflected off the remaining snow.
It was a lovely walk. We don’t get a lot of snow in the South, so to be able to hike in these conditions was something I am truly grateful for.

Goodness! In my head I responded to your post, but as I see now, obviously the thoughts did not translate into writing! I have never had the joy (perhaps best since I am so klutzy & prone to tripping even on flat ground) of crunching through snow as you did. And since you mentioned it doesn’t snow much in your neck of the woods, it must have been a treat for you too! Vicarious enjoyment!
